Do I need to bring anything?
Nope, just your passionate self!

When can I do a workshop?
The classes are offered during the day, evening or on weekends. We are flexible on options to suit your needs whether that's a one off class, or an ongoing booking.

What happens if I don't show up?
If you submit your request within 2-hours before your session start time or you do not attend the session, you will be considered a ‘No Show’ you will be eligible to reschedule. No credit voucher or refund will be given.

Session reschedules and booking policy?
The number of painters for Private Events can be changed (subject to a minimum), free of charge until 7 days prior to the event when the final payment is due. Cancelling or rescheduling the Private Event, or withholding final payment, may result in loss of deposit. $200 deposit for Private Events is to be paid upon request with the final payment made 14 days prior to the Private Event.

Where can we do the workshop?
We can come to you, or if you are a smaller group you can book in the Art & About studio space.

What's covered in a workshop?
We aim to introduce you to the basics of painting and drawing in a supportive and flexible environment. Flexibility is important. Every class, and every student, is unique. Where necessary and applicable, the course will be adapted and tailored to the ongoing interests and developing expertise of the class and the individual members of the group.

Do I need prior experience?
Nope, our workshops are designed for beginner to intermediate level. You will be introduced to a range of painting and drawing media. You will be guided through this process with demonstrations and assistance.

What groups are the workshops designed for?
Any type of group! We specialise in offering personalised group sessions for School/College staff and student, disability, community, team building groups and aged care sectors as well.

What type of art will we do?
You can choose from a range of paint n sip themes

How long are the workshops?
Workshops run for 2-3 hours. This includes 30 minutes set up,  2 hours painting and 30 minutes clean-up. However, workshops can be customised to suit participants needs. All paints, art materials, apron and easel will be provided.

Can I book a private function?
Yes. You can book a mobile come to you workshop or an Art & About studio session
What if I need to cancel my booking?

SESSION CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULES Booking Policy for ALL Private Events. At least 1 week notice before date for cancellation or non-attendance of students. Sessions can be re-booked  if you tell us ahead of time. No credit voucher or refund will be given. The number of painters for Private Events can be changed (subject to a minimum), free of charge until 7 days prior to the event. Christina will contact you to arrange logistics. 

Can I leave my painting behind and pick it up later?
Yes. Just contact us when your wanting to collect your painting
Do I have to paint the same thing as the artist?
The artist will guide you through the painting process. However, you can choose to add your own creative edge
Can my friends and I sit together?
If you let us know prior to the event then this can be arranged
Are children allowed?
We welcome all ages
Can you purchase food and drinks in-studio?
If you select an In-studio session you will need to supply your own nibbles. If you select a 1 day specialist painting workshop then tea, coffee, morning tea and lunch are provided.
Can I bring nibbles or food?
Yes you can
What should I wear?
Do not wear your best outfit as paint spills can happy. However, we do provide aprons
What makes Art & About unique from other creative arts services?
Skills, Qualifications and Experience. Christina is a qualified visual art educator and artist. For over 25 years Christina has continued to guide children, youth and adults in engaging and meaningful artmaking experiences. As an educator she also has experience in coordinating Arts Week and Showcase Events involving art making experiences, engaging guest artist’s in activities and workshops.

What qualifications does the workshop facilitator have?
Christina holds the following:
- Diploma in Fine Art - Queensland College of Art
- Graduate Diploma in Education - QUT
- Current Certificate - Teacher Registration QLD
- Yellow Card - working with people with a disability
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Triple COVID-19 vaccinated
