NDIS: 1:1 and Group Creative Art as Therapy and Wellbeing

At Art and About Brisbane we offer an inclusive creative art as therapy sessions for self and plan managed NDIS participants. Priding ourselves on delivering a reliable, professional art service participants individual goals and needs are met through a tailored program 

Whether painting, working with clay or drawing the act of making can lessen anxiety, increase concentration, feelings of wellbeing, self-worth and relaxation.

What Makes Art and About Brisbane Unique:

Our creative art service is delivered by Christina a qualified, registered Secondary Visual Art teacher. With degrees in fine art and education she has over 25 years experience teaching and supporting children, adolescents, adults and individuals with a range of needs.

Where are classes held?:
We can come to you and deliver art class services in home, at a centre, a group setting within the comfort of your community or at the Art and About studio in Indooroopilly. 

What Art and About offers 

1:1 and small group creative art sessions at the studio

Self-Managed and Plan-Managed NDIS Creative Art Services

Together we will tailor 1:1 creative art experiences that meet your personal goals, interests and levels of art making. 

First we meet and get to know each other and start to plan your creative experiences 

We create a safe, positive space with an emphasis on enjoyment, social inclusion and connecting with the community. 

Individuals are gently encouraged to explore their ideas using different art materials and techniques. Participants have the opportunity to express themselves through:

• Painting
• Drawing
• Pottery
• Sculpture
• Mixed media canvas
• Art journalling
• Mindfulness art

No art experience is necessary with classes being suitable for beginners. You can bring along an idea or be inspired by Art and About. 

Pricing and Payment Details:

A 1 hour one-on-one lesson is $88hr. The cost includes tuition and most materials. 

Additional fees:

Non-face-to-face costs are for the things Art and About does when you aren’t there, to make sure you can join in. It is specific to you and reflect the support you need. 

If we come to you a travel fee may be charged. 

Session Details and Times:

We offer ongoing weekly 1-2 hour sessions. Length of this service can be adjusted to meet your needs.

Registering for Classes:

Art and About is perfect for social inclusion and community participation. This and capacity building are the support categories that NDIS participants typically use.

Once you reserve your place, an invoice will be sent you or your Plan Manager with payment details.

Please check with your plan manager that this support service will be funded by the NDIA and directly relates to your goals and disability.

Participants must be registered prior to class.

Carers:

Need to bring a carer, no problem. Your carer is welcome to attend and assist you at no charge. Please note; carers are unable to participate in the program.

Should there be circumstances that mean Christina is unable to attend classes, as much warning as possible will be given and the classes, where possible, will be pushed to the following week.

Should COVID get in the way and classes are cancelled beyond our control, they will be recommenced as soon as possible, by both parties.

In the event of covid lockdowns the package is not completed Christina will always endeavour to fulfill any and all obligations as timely as possible.
